As a seller it is important that the business can operate following guides and procedures. Documenting these in advance can help both the perceived value and also the negotiating status for the seller. Franchise businesses that work, not all do, are those with procedures that basically are enabling the owner to operate by numbers, whether it is stock ordering, paying bills or managing staff.
In addition the ability to run the business off an industry accepted system is always a benefit. If you have your accounts and ordering process working in unison that a new owner can get independent training, acquire the skills and continue trading on handover with no interuption it all has a significant benefit.
